Relational Boundaries Class

The primary word in the title Relational Boundaries is the word “relational.” First and foremost, this means being relational with ourselves to determine what is okay and what is not okay.

See, that’s the most basic definition there is of what a boundary is: what is okay and what is not okay. If you don’t know how to sort this out inside your own head and heart, how on earth will you ever be able to communicate that to another?

In this class, you will learn:

  • What caretaking A.K.A. codependency is
  • The value of language
  • Basic meditation skills
  • How to identify and express needs
  • How to make a request

Annual January Yoga Retreat

Our 6th Annual January Yoga Retreat happens the MLK Holiday weekend of January 18-21, 2019. It is an opportunity to recover from the busy-ness of the holidays and year-end activities and to move intentionally into the new year.

Situated on 1,100 acres in the serene piney woods of the Navasota area, our location is that of Camp Allen which is a lovely place designed to relax, refresh, and refocus.  We will be in the newly built Staff Lodge where each room comfortably houses three people. There are two spacious community bathrooms each with three showers and toilet stalls. Plan on sharing a room with two other retreat participants.  Two private rooms available for a small fee. All meals and snacks are whole food and plant based.  Gluten-free and food allergies can be accommodated.

Here are descriptions of the activities offered:

Slow Yoga
Saturday and Sunday mornings will afford the opportunity for a slow, deep yoga practice where there is ample time to breathe, stretch and strengthen the body allowing it to heal from year-end busy-ness. Take advantage of deepening your practice or learning about yoga and how it feels in your body.  Both morning classes are open to all levels of participants.  These classes are conducted with respect and gentleness toward each student, focusing on each student’s physical and energetic requirements.

Integrative Breathing
Integrative Breathing can bring back the natural, full breath you enjoyed as a child. It will help you let go of restrictive breathing patterns so that you can learn to breathe more deeply throughout the day. Deeper breath means more oxygen to all the cells in your body. More oxygen means better health and more enjoyment of all that life offers.  Integrative Breathing is a fantastic way to shake off old, gunky energy creating greater clarity as you step into the New Year.

Additional Activities
As the unique template of the group forms and the date of the weekend grows closer, additional activities including the MELT Method, an opportunity to create art and the instruction/experience of meditation may be added.

Whole Food Plant Based Meals
Nicole Williams is delighted to be your onsite chef for the weekend sharing the benefits of Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) cooking with you! Meals will be primarily WFPB meaning they will include whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes (beans, peas, lentils), nuts and seeds with minimal amounts of oil, sugar and salt that are minimally processed and refined. These whole foods have all the nutrients and fiber our bodies need for optimal health and efficiency just as “mother nature” intended and will enhance your retreat experience.

 

 

 

 

Investment of $475 registration fee includes:

  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights lodging triple occupancy
  • Continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday
  • Plant-based lunches Saturday and Sunday
  • Plant-based dinners Saturday and Sunday
  • Leftover Brunch Extravaganza Monday morning
  • Two Slow Yoga classes

A $100 deposit holds your spot. Installments may be made.
Balance must be paid in full by December 15, 2018.
